Axiom Warehouse Improvement · Measurably better
I have spent 20 years running warehouses. Now I help you get more from yours.
I'm Nick Kirbyshire, founder of Axiom Warehouse Improvement. I find the root cause of what is holding your operation back, put in the change that fixes it, and stay until it holds.
From the warehouse floor up
I'm Nick Kirbyshire, founder of Axiom Warehouse Improvement. I started on the warehouse floor at Coca-Cola in 2002 and worked my way up, through haulier management, operational support, team leader roles, customer logistics and allocation, picking operations and finally warehouse management. Later I ran warehouse and shipping operations at Tate & Lyle Sugars and Zotefoams.
Along the way I built hands-on depth in despatch, inventory control, product receipt, raw materials and intermediate goods control, bay and dock control, haulier management, forklift fleet management and tendering, and safe working. I have seen great teams deliver great results, and I have seen them claw an operation back after a serious hit from production errors.
Writing SOPs and risk assessments, designing cycle counting, setting KPIs and keeping a safe, controlled working environment have been part of my day-to-day management at every site I have run. That is the experience behind the services I offer.

Career highlights
Coca-Cola · 2012
London 2012 Olympics
Selected to help set up the Dagenham warehouse that supplied Coca-Cola drinks to the London 2012 venues. I wrote and delivered the training for the whole site, then ran one of the four shifts during the Games.
Tate & Lyle Sugars
Manual to automated, without a missed order
Led the conversion of a live warehouse from forklifts to automated guided vehicles. Same address, different warehouse, and the line kept running.
Zotefoams
Stock loss down
Annual stock loss fell from £400,000 to £45,000 through daily discipline, rigorous investigation and a redesigned operation.
Why Axiom
After 20 years, the part of the job I enjoy most is walking into an operation, finding the root cause of what is holding it back, and putting in the change that fixes it. So I started Axiom to do exactly that, for other businesses.
I spot the bottlenecks and the wasted effort, and I spot the safety issues before they become incidents. Then I give you a practical solution and stay until it holds.
Independent by design
I sell no racking, no software and no automation. So my advice is always the best option for your operation, never a margin.
